YEEEES IT HAS LIGHTS! And the light effects are also real 
This cosplay was a challenge, not for me this time, but for my husband Collin
he is the person behind that awesome Thomas cosplay!
This helmet and gloves were fully handmaded by himself. For the light effects, it's called "light painting" and it's an effect that you can do with any camera that accepts the "bulb" mode (or that can at least be exposed for very long before it shots.). There are many tutorials on internet, so check it out if you're curious
